$ 32,000 Annual salary, payable monthly, to a maximum of $ 38,000

Office Hours:

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Monday through Friday, except holidays.

Duties:
Performs general duty police work in the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Exercises powers of arrest and control; defends self and others; uses force including deadly force, in approved circumstances; enforces motor vehicle laws; operates vehicle under emergency conditions and provides emergency assistance; responds to crime scenes and performs criminal investigations; participates in special operations. Requires physical condition, agility, and coordination to allow performance of the essential tasks of a police officer as prescribed by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. Employee will be assigned to a 12 hour rotating shift and may work other than a normal work week.

APPLICANTS FROM WITHIN WASHINGTON STATE MUST POSSESS a Washington State Basic Law Enforcement certificate and have five (5) years of sworn, non-military, patrol officer experience as a Police Officer in the State of Washington.

APPLICANTS FROM OTHER STATES must possess the above required experience and Law Enforcement certificate applicable to their State, and have the ability to obtain Equivalency Law Enforcement certification by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission within the probationary period. Proof of a valid driver’s license must be submitted. Applicants must be certified by a Physician as physically fit to perform the prescribed duties. An in-depth background investigation will be conducted, and a police record or criminal activity may be grounds for rejection. ALL applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

TESTING PROCESS:

Resume review, oral interview, psychological, polygraph and medical exam after job offer. Non-Washington State Certified Officers are required to attend and successfully complete a two-week State Equivalency Academy within one year after hire.
