February 2009 Activity Log

City of Palouse:

02/03:  Malicious Mischief, 300 Block Palouse Cove Rd, Resident reported someone scratched the paint on his vehicle. 

02/04:  Horse At Large, Hwy 27 at Palouse Fire Station, Several callers reported a horse on the loose.  Horse was corralled and returned to owner.

02/06:  Concealed Pistol License renewal application.

02/08:  Parking Violation, 300 Block W. Mohr Street.  Resident reported vehicle parked in a posted no-parking zone.  Officer contacted owner, and vehicle was moved.

02/16:  Loose/Dangerous Dogs, 1700 Block Idaho Street.  Resident reported a neighbors dogs attacked their chicken.  Officer impounded dogs at Whitman County Humane Society. 

02/18:  Loose Dog, 600 Block W. Whitman Street.  Resident reported that a neighbor’s dog was loose.  An Officer discovered the dog, and secured him in a kennel.  Verbal warning issued.

02/19:  Assault, 200 Block E. Cannon Street.  Resident reported being punched by a neighbor.  Arrested for 4th degree assault: David R. McCreight.

02/20:  Assault/Fight, Palouse City Park.  Several juveniles were involved in a fight.  Charged were forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney’s office.

02/20:  Found Property, Palouse City Park.  A bicycle was found under the bridge near the park.  Unknown owner.

02/26:  Concealed Pistol License renewal application.

02/27:  Parking Problem, 300 Block W. Mohr Street.  Two residents complained that a neighbor’s truck was blocking the alley.  An Officer contacted the owner, who moved the truck.

Town of Garfield:

02/02:  Loose Dog, Garfield Town Park.  An officer located the dog, and returned it to the owner with a verbal warning.

02/02:  Telephone Harassment, 400 Block N. 2nd Street.

02/02:  Concealed Pistol License renewal application.

02/02:  Noise Complaint/loud music, 700 Block W. Main Street.  A resident called to complain about loud party music that occurred a few days earlier.  The officer requested the resident call police when the music occurs.

02/03:  Concealed Pistol License original application.

02/04:  Junk Vehicle, 400 Block S. 4th Street.  A resident complained about a neighbor’s junk vehicle.  The neighbor was contacted and requested to remove the vehicle within 60 days.

02/07:  Motorist Assist, 200 Block N. 10th.  An officer helped a motorist whose vehicle became stuck in the snow.

02/09:  Loose Dog, 600 Block W. Spokane Street.  An anonymous caller reported a loose dog.  The responding officer was unable to locate the dog.

02/11:  Loose Dog, Garfield Town Park.  An anonymous caller reported a black/white dog at the park.  An officer located the dog, and issued a verbal warning to the owner.

02/12:  Traffic Infraction/Speeding, 400 Block E. Main Street.  A driver was issued a traffic infraction for speeding following multiple warnings.

02/14:  Loose Dogs, 300 Block S. 10th Street.  A resident reported two dogs had attacked their chicken.  The bird was uninjured, and the dogs’ owners were warned and educated regarding the dangerous dog ordinance.

02/16:  911-hangup, 2nd Street and Spokane Street.  A juvenile called 911 and then hung up to bluff other kids to return property.

02/17:  Concealed Pistol License, 2 renewal applications.

02/27:  Telephone Harassment.  A Montana resident called to complain that a Garfield resident threatened to kill her over the phone during a verbal dispute.  The responding officer conducted an investigation and determined the complaint was most likely unfounded.  The caller was advised to file a complaint in their local jurisdiction.
