City of Palouse:
01/02: 911 Hang-up, 100 Block E. Bluff Street, Officer responded, problem with phone line, residents okay.
01/03: Malicious Mischief, 300 Block E. St. Elmo Street, Resident reported what appeared to be a deliberately damaged mailbox. No suspects or leads.
01/04: Dogs at large, East Union street near Cemetery, Report of three large dogs chasing deer in the area, officer was unable to locate dogs. The reporting party did not know whose dogs they were.
01/05: Lost Dog, SR 272, Owner reported dog missing. The dog was later located and returned to the owner.
01/05: Assist Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, 911 Hang-up, N. River Rd. Responding officer determined it to be a phone line problem.
01/06: Vehicle Impound, East Main Street.
01/07: Dog at Large, 700 Block N. Mary Street, two separate parties complained of a loose dog. Owner was issued infraction.
01/09: Dogs at Large, Houghton and Mary Streets, Officer was unable to locate the dogs.
01/10: 911 Hang-up, 500 Block E. Bluff Street, Officer determined it to be a phone line problem, residents okay.
01/10: Suspicious Circumstances, Bluff and Wiley Streets, Officer noticed interior light on inside vehicle. Owner notified and vehicle secured. Nothing had been taken.
01/19: Theft, 800 Block E. 4th Street, Resident reported $150 worth of firewood was stolen.
01/20: Loose Dog, Mary and Cannon Streets, owner walking dog off leash, verbal warning issued.
01/20: Citizen Assist, 300 Block E. Alder, Officer found vehicle headlights left on. The owner was contacted, and the lights were turned off.
01/20: Concealed Pistol License renewal application received.
01/22: Concealed Pistol License application received.
01/23: Assist Emergency Medical Service, Main and Bridge Streets. Officer responded to control traffic around a man who fell on the icy street. The man was transported by EMS to the hospital.
01/24: Dog at Large, 600 Block W. Church Street, Officer located dog and transported it to Humane Society in Pullman.
01/25: Citizen Assist, 100 Block E. Whitman Street, Officer helped resident jump-start his car.
01/31: Suspicious Person/Trespassing, East Union and Sumner Streets. Reporting party said a person had been sitting in a truck at the County Road Dept. site for a while. Officer found subject located in a posted no-trespassing zone, and asked the man to leave.
Town of Garfield:
01/08: Domestic Violence Assault, East California Street, One juvenile male arrested for assault and transported to the Whitman County Jail.
01/09: Concealed Pistol License application received.
01/10: Concealed Pistol License application received.
01/16: Dog at Large, 500 Block W. Main Street, Owner contacted and a verbal warning was issued.
01/17: Juvenile Problem, Garfield City Park. Officer spoke to kids verbally threatening one another.
01/18: Juvenile Problem, Garfield City Park. Officer spoke to parent regarding ongoing problem with children calling police regarding issues best handled by parents.
01/22: Dogs at Large, 800 Block W. California Street, Officer discovered dogs running in roadway multiple times during the day. Owner not home, but later contacted and a verbal warning was issued.
01/23: Concealed Pistol License application received.
01/29: Dog at Large, 100 Block N. 10th Street, Owner contacted to pick up dog, verbal warning issued.
01/30: Theft/Civil, 300 Block S. 3rd Street, Resident reported that his brother had taken a utility trailer without permission. Dispute over ownership of trailer. Brother later returned the trailer.
01/30: Civil Complaint, 400 Block S. 4th Street, Resident reported that his neighbor was driving over reflective yard markers. Officer contacted the neighbor and asked him to exercise caution when entering or leaving his driveway.
01/30: Traffic Violation, East Main Street, Officer issued a Notice of Infraction for traveling 39 mph in a 25 mph zone.
