City of Palouse:
11/01: Agency Assist, Moscow Police, 300 Block W. Mohr Street. Officer asked to see if stolen laptop was located in suspect vehicle.
11/11: Malicious Mischief, 300 Block W. Mohr Street. RP reported vehicle tires were slashed. No suspects or leads.
11/14: Loose Dogs, 100 Block E. Main. Owner contacted. Warning issued.
11/15: Non-injury motor vehicle collision, Almota Street at RR tracks. The driver of one vehicle rear-ended a second vehicle stopped at the railroad tracks.
11/15: Loose Dog, 700 Block W. Church St. Officer responded, but unable to locate.
11/16: Suspicious Circumstances, Cannon and K Streets. RP reported chemical smell in area. Officer responded, but was unable to verify the odor.
11/16: Traffic Complaint, 300 Block E. Church Street. RP reported owner driving unlicensed trailer in town. Owner contacted, and verbal warning issued.
11/17: Animal Problem, 700 Block W. Church Street. RP reported three cows loose in roadway. Officer contacted and assisted owners in confining the animals.
11/18: HAZMAT, 100 Block E. Main. RP claimed bad gas purchased at station ate through his gas tank and spilled 15 gallons of gasoline into storm sewer. Claim unfounded.
11/20: Telephone Harassment, Moscow. Moscow resident complained of receiving a harassing phone call from a Palouse resident. Officer contacted all parties, and found no evidence to support the claim. Victim did not want further action taken.
11/21: Vehicle Pursuit, Almota and Spokane Streets. Speeding vehicle (a blue 1985 Chevy Sprint, WA license 606 XLP) failed to stop for officer after officer attempted to pull vehicle over. Officer pursued vehicle south on SR 27 toward Pullman. Officer terminated pursuit.
11/22: Suspicious Activity/Drugs, 300 Block W. Mohr Street. RP reported possible drug activity (strange vehicles coming and going). Officer checked area several times throughout day, but did not notice anything suspicious.
11/23: Attempt to Locate/Missing Persons, Plummer, ID. RP reports daughter and two small kids stopped to rest in Palouse overnight, but she had not heard from them since. Officer checked the city for vehicle matching the description provided. RP later contacted officer to report she had made contact with the subjects.
11/24: Domestic Violence Assault, 200 Block East Cannon Street. Adult Male was arrested for assault and transported to the Whitman County Jail.
11/26: Civil Standby, 200 Block E. Cannon Street. RP requested an officer’s presence while he removed clothing and other personal property from the residence.
Town of Garfield:
11/09: Animal Problem, 300 Block S. 10th Street. RP reported that a black horse showed up on property. Unknown owner.
11/10: Loose/Aggressive Dog, Main and 10th Streets. RP reported a dark hound was chasing horses near her property. Owner contacted and advised a $100 infraction would be issued for next offense.
11/12: Civil Dispute, 600 Block W. Spokane Street. RP reported problems with recent vehicle trade. Officer determined no crime occurred and referred RP to civil court system.
11/13: Malicious Mischief, Garfield City Park. City employee reported intentional damage to motion sensor in men’s restroom. No suspects or leads.
11/16: 911 hang-up, 500 Block W. Union St. Elderly person fell and was transported by ambulance to hospital.
11/16: Loose Dog, Garfield City Park. Owner contacted, verbal warning issued.
11/18: Holdup Alarm, State Bank NW. Alarm malfunction.
11/21: Luring, Garfield City Park. RP reported rumors of children being offered rides by white male driving a silver pickup truck. Officer contacted the children in question, and was unable to get further information, other than that it happened several days earlier. The children and their parents were urged to report this type of activity to the police immediately.
11/22: Traffic Offense, 4th and Adams Streets. Officer stopped vehicle for speeding. The driver, Gary Simonsen of Spokane, was arrested for driving with a suspended driver license.
11/22: Barking Dogs, 800 Block W. California Street. Owner contacted and verbal warning issued.
