ORDINANCE NO.  781

 

            AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PALOUSE, WASHINGTON, amending Ordinance No. 651, Sections 1, 2, and 3, and Palouse Municipal Code Section 13.20.030 and 13.20.060, thereby establishing new rates for municipal water service.  

 

            WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Palouse has deemed it reasonable and necessary to increase the monthly rates charged for city water service, now, therefore,

 

            BE IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Palouse as follows:

 

            Section 1.   Palouse Ordinance No. 651, Section 1, and Palouse Municipal Code Section 13.20.030 are hereby amended to provide the following monthly rates charged to be paid by customers of water supplied by the City of Palouse within the Palouse City limits:

 

Single-family residences:  $16.50 per month per service connection for the first 600 cubic feet of water metered, and thereafter $1.00 per each additional 100 cubic feet metered or increment thereof.

 

Multi-family and apartment houses:  $16.50 per month per service connection for the one initial base dwelling or apartment unit for the first 600 cubic feet of water metered; $8.25 per month for each additional dwelling or apartment unit per service connection for the first 300 cubic feet of water metered to each unit; $1.00 per each additional 100 cubic feet, or increment thereof,  per service connection metered to all units combined.

 

All other uses:  $16.50 per month per service connection for the first 600 cubic feet of water metered, and thereafter $1.00 per each additional 100 cubic feet, or increment thereof metered.

 

For purposes of this section, the term customer shall refer to any water service that has not been disconnected or otherwise terminated for any reason, including the required request for termination of water service signed by the owner. 

 

            Section 2.  Palouse Ordinance No. 651, Section 2, and Palouse Municipal Code Section 13.20.060 are hereby amended to provide the following monthly rates charged to be paid by customers of water supplied by the City of Palouse outside the Palouse City limits:

 

Multi-family and apartment houses:  $22.90 per month per service connection for the one initial base dwelling or apartment unit for the first 600 cubic feet of water metered; $11.45 per month for each additional dwelling or apartment unit per service connection for the first 300 cubic feet of water metered to each unit; $1.00 per each additional 100 cubic feet or increment thereof per service connection metered to all units combined.

All other uses:  $22.90 per month per service connection for the first 600 cubic feet of water metered, and thereafter $1.00 per each additional 100 cubic feet or increment thereof, metered.

Section 3.  The rates established by this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after January 1, 2003.
